An interview with Rinos

The Flooring Show 2024 will be here before we know it, so it’s time to meet the first of our exhibitors. Rinos are a flooring manufacturer who pride themselves on their innovation and customer loyalty. Read below to find out what they’re bringing to The Flooring Show this September.

An interview with Rinos
Can you tell me about the history of the company?
At the beginning of the 20th century the production of mats in Genemuiden, the cradle of the Dutch carpet industry, took off. Rush mat weaving, a cottage industry, gave way to machine-woven coir matting. Rinos was founded in 1925. A century later, as virtually the only remaining producer of coir mats in Europe, the family business still supplies this timeless, classic doormat.

Who is the company’s target audience?
Rinos sells to wholesalers and distributors, who commercialise these products under their distributor brand.

Can you describe the company’s signature style?
Loyalty, reliability, and craftsmanship are the pillars of our family business, which makes us a supplier you can count on. With a policy that includes innovation and sustainability, so that the business remains relevant as it is passed on to future generations.

What is the company’s secret to success?
The key to success for Rinos is the craftsmanship of our employees which is based on almost 100 years of mat manufacturing. Due to our specialisation, we’re fast, flexible, and reliable with relative low minimum order quantities.

Can you tell me about your company’s biggest achievement to date?
We have introduced HydroTX: a textile technology that enables the absorption of 3x more moisture during the first steps on a doormat.

What are your company’s five best qualities?
Craftmanship, loyalty, integrity, delivery speed, quality.

What do you think buyers love about you?
We measure our customer satisfaction every year with a Net Promotor Score (NPS). In 2023, we reached a NPS +55. That means that the percentage of promotors (score 9 and 10 on a ten-point scale) - the percentage of detractors (scores 6 and lower) = 55, which is a very high satisfaction score. In our independent research, our customers tell us that they like Rinos for their competent employees, high quality products and fast delivery.

What do you think makes your company stand out?
We know all our customers personally.

What does the future hold for your company?
We’ll continue to pay a lot of attention to innovation, particularly in sustainability.

What can we expect from your company at The Flooring Show 2024?
We’ll be showing a new branded feature for Coir: "Endura9", new colours in Coir and new polyamide entrance mats at economical price points.

Can you tell me a bit about the ranges you offer?
We offer Coir in three quality levels: promotap for the commodity coir business, Rinotap for residential use and light commercial use, and Duratap for contract use. Polyamide mats are offered in 13 ranges with a variation of designs and specifications.

What would you say is the most popular product in your range(s)?
The Delta entrance mat with HydroTX.

What are your top three favourite products that you offer?
Coloured Coir, Delta, Symphony2.

Do you have any sustainable/eco-friendly products you would like us to highlight?
All our polyamide products are available with the PVC-free Pura Backing. It is plasticiser free, thus avoiding stains on porous subfloors.
